Soumitra is a full-time artist residing in Kolkata and Santiniketan.

For BRIDGE2WORLDS, he cites,” My works entitled ‘Bollywood Frame I and II’ try to depict the romantic elements of light and colour along with various emotional undertones. There is also an aspect of fantasy against an ambiguous architectural background.

Soumitra has a Master’s degree in Art History and a Bachelor’s degree in Printmaking from Kala Bhavana Santiniketan. He is a merit scholar and winner of the ‘Shubona Banik Award- for ‘Best Result in Bachelors of Fine Arts’. He has been Head of Department, Visual Arts- in four reputed educational institutions. He has also exhibited his works in many live and online shows throughout India.
