Sweeta Rai

Sweeta Rai was raised in the cultural capital of India, Varanasi.
Sweeta’s work is essentially autobiographical as one can discern the reminiscences of her childhood as well as her everyday experiences.
With constant evolution and a desire for experimentation using different mediums and forms, Sweeta explores different layers of the human mind, inner consciousness, and a range of feelings like abandonment, emotional turmoil, agony, dream, and desire. Nature is what inspires her the most and fills her canvas with energetic and vibrant colours.
She achieved her Bachelor's in Fine Arts from Kashi Vidyapeeth and went on to gain her Master’s in Fine Arts from the Sir J.J School of Arts. Her work has been exhibited in renowned museums such as Jehangir Art gallery, Lalit Kala Academy and also in many group shows in India and abroad. She has also been awarded the national level award from South Central Zone, Art Society of India, and Camlin. The
spontaneity and freedom in her work was also recognised by the Ministry of Culture, where she was awarded a Junior Research fellowship.
