Alison Stirling

“My work investigates the coexistence of nature and the built-up environment; where urbanity encroaches on nature and vice versa in forgotten or ‘in-between’ spaces. I use photography, collage and art historical references to reimagine landscape in its elemental form.”

Alison has exhibited her work internationally including: The Royal Academy of Arts, Brunswick Gallery, Unit 1 Gallery and Collective Arts, Canada. Her work was selected for the prestigious ING Discerning Eye by Anna Brady, The Art Newspaper and Dr Chris Stephens, former Head of Displays at Tate Britain.

Alison is a graduate of Birmingham School of Art (Fine Art hons) and Birkbeck, University of London (History of Art MA) She is a recent graduate of the Essential School of Painting Artist Development Year, led by Hughie O’Donoghue RA
