Statement

“My practice explores the postcolonial legacies of Empire, particularly their continuing impact on Africa and the relationships between Africa, Britain and the wider world. I examine how colonial histories continue to shape ideas of identity, belonging and place, and how these histories are remembered and reinterpreted across cultures.I work across painting, sculpture and ceramics, using diverse materials to create connections between histories, cultures, objects and ways of seeing.
